The Fed kept the federal funds target rate unchanged in June 2025.
Specter Intel
The Federal Reserve opted to maintain its current interest rate range of 4.25%–4.5% during its meeting on June 18, 2025. This marks the fourth consecutive meeting in which rates have remained unchanged. The last reduction occurred in December 2024, when the Fed lowered the rate by 25 basis points. As inflation persists and key indicators, such as recent retail sales data, have come in worse than expected, the Fed will find it difficult to cut rates. Meanwhile, the labor market remains strong, adding complexity to future policy decisions. The next Fed meeting is scheduled for July 29–30.
